The Only Way Out An Infantryman's Autobiography of the North-west Europe Campaign August 1944 - February 1945
The Only Way Out An Infantryman's Autobiography of the North-west Europe Campaign August 1944 - February 1945
An autobiography in graphic terms of the North-west European campaign. The author served with a unit of motorized infantry attached to the 7th Armoured Divison (the famous Desert Rats) in the final stages of the invasion of France and Germany. He took part in the liberation of Ghent, the attempt to relive the British Airborne Division at Arnhem and the crossing of the Rhine. He writes of these experiences in a forthright style devoid of heroics, concerning himself not with campaigns but with men - with his own thoughts and feelings.
