20th Fighter Group

 

The 20th Fighter Group joined the 8th AF Command in Dec of 1943, flying the P-38 Lightning in the long range bomber escort role. The 20th Fighter Group later converted to the P-51 Mustang in July of 1944. The Group destroyed a total of 449 enemy aircraft during its combat tour. Over 150 photos, 8pp of colour, 80 pp in total.
