The Next Moon The Remarkable True Story of a British Agent Behind the Lines in Wartime France
Andre Hue was aged 16 and stark naked when his life irrevocably changed direction. Until that moment he had fostered few ambitions other than to get through the war unscathed. But when the cry of 'Abandon ship' went up as he prepared to go on duty, it put in motion a train of events that were to turn Hue into one of World War 2's most decorated heroes. In collaboration with the writer Southby-Tailyour, Hue tells his story of the fall of France and his recruitment by the British secret service. In 1944 he was parachuted into France in order to co-ordinate the Resistance and to hamper the Germans in whatever he could in the weeks before D-Day. The tale, though told with modesty, is one of courage and audacity, treachery and tenacity. For his work, which helped the Allied invasion to succeed, Hue received the highest honours from both the British and French governments.
