John Gwynne's memoirs and an account of the Earl of Glencairn's expedition in the highlands of Scotland in 1653/54. Gwynne's narrative is one of the most famous of surviving accounts from the Royalist camp. Gwynne not only served Charles I faithfully, but after the monarch's execution, he served with Montrose and with James, Duke of York ant Dunkirk.
