The history of the 5th Seaforth Highlanders in World War II, first published in 1948. The 5th was one of nine infantry battalions in the 51st Highland Division and fought in North Africa (relieving an Australian battalion), Sicily, and northern Europe. The author, a journalist before the war, served with the regiment in its campaigns. An unusually good regimental history.
